Braeside School Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures . . .
We hope these guidelines help to clear up any confusion on this subject.
- The space along the sidewalk between the “No Parking” signs (between the ends of the arched sidewalk) is a No Parking Zone. It must be kept clear at all times for emergency vehicles. It may be used for “active” drop-off only; please pull to the far end of the zone to allow as many cars as possible to pull in behind you, let your child(ren) out, and clear the lane for other cars. If you need to walk your child(ren) in or watch them walk to the building you must park your car in another spot. Drivers are not to wait in this area at pick-up time.
- Cars must pull completely into a spot along the curb. Do not leave your car sticking out into the active lane, blocking the flow of traffic.
- Drop-off and pick-up are allowed only along the curb. Do not drop-off children or pick them up in the “through lane”/”traffic lane” which requires children to walk between other vehicles. Only allow children to exit and enter the car from the curb side of the car.
- Do not stop along Lincolnwood or drive through the teachers’ lot.
- Do not block the crosswalks with your vehicle.
- At drop-off and pick-up times, cell phones are to be used only when parked at the curb, never when your car is in gear.
Consider picking up after 3:20 when much of the traffic has cleared or arranging a meeting place on one of the side streets. Brownville, along the north side of the school, is an alternative for both drop-off and pickup that does not require the student to cross a street. |
