Starland Open House September 2

Starland, the North Shore’s premier creativity center for kids aged 0-13, offers an enriching environment that caters to both the child and parent. With classes from 9:30am through 7:15pm, parents can customize programming to meet their child’s needs, including lunch and school pick up/drop off, giving more time for their busy lifestyles. Fall classes begin September 7th and run through December 15th. In addition to classic music and dance, the fall 2010 offerings include unique classes such as: Little Bytes, So You Think You Can Dance, Kids Cafe', Disney Dance Jams, Behind the "Scenes," Superhero Boot Camp as well as Mommy and Me Classes for tiny tots. Please join us for Starland's Open House on September 2nd from 10 am to 4pm to see what this North Shore enrichment center has to offer. Doors will be open for parents and children to come experience Starland's facilities, staff, schedules, classes, and more.\


Family Network offers after school activity program on school vacation days
The Family Network provides a full day of after school activity programs (ASAP) during school vacation days for District 112 students attending Oak Terrace, Wayne Thomas, Indian Trail, Ravinia or Lincoln schools. The day-long program is held at Oak Terrace School's multi-purpose room from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The fee is $50 per child, which includes a lunch and a snack. A Big Blast offers free gymnastics lesson to special needs children
A Big Blast is offering a free introductory gymnastics lesson for special needs children in the community. A Big Blast is the second organization in the country and the first in the midwest to offer gymnastics as a new form of therapy

Highland Park Field House offers youth soccer program
The Highland Park Field House is a not-for-profit organization, in partnership with the Park District of Highland Park and local schools,serving the community with youth and adult soccer, golf and lacrosse. The youth soccer program is designed for boys and girls, ages 3-6, to develop skills and a life long passion for the game of soccer. Students required to wear protective helmet when cycling
The City of Highland Park, the Highland Park Police Department and North Shore School District 112 want to remind all students about bicycle safety and the ordinance that requires every person under the age of 16 years old to wear a protective helmet. Helmets must be worn while operating any bicycle, scooter, skateboard or any other type of user propelled device. To read the letter, click HERE
