English: 1st/2nd period
  • Reading/Literature: Paragraphs, Short Stories, and Novels
  • Vocabulary/Spelling
  • Writing: Paragraphs, Essays, and Six Traits of Good Writing
  • Grammar

A successful English student will:

    • Use the writing process.
    • Read everyday.
    • Use a dictionary.
    • Study to learn.

Math: 5th period

  • Number Sense (i.e. Divisibility Rules, Fractions)
  • Computation and Operations (i.e. Multiplication, Prime Factorization)
  • Algebra & Functions (i.e. Equations, Graphs)
  • Measurement (i.e. Area, Metric measurement)
  • Geometry (i.e. Angles, Surface area)
  • Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability (i.e. Histogram, Range)
  • Mathematical Reasoning (i.e. Drawing conclusions, Identifying Relationships)
  • Problem Solving (i.e. Applications of Addition/Fractions, Using a Formula)

A successful math student will:

    • Use strach paper/calculator (when allowed)
    • Proofread work before turning it in.
    • Use available resources.
    • Study to learn.
Resource: 9th period
  • Remediation of goal areas
  • Organizational Skills
  • Study Skills

A successful resource student will:

    • Come to class with his/her assignment notebooks.
    • Come to class with his/her science binder & materials.
    • Listen while others talk.
    • Participate in discussions.
    • Try different strategies.
    • Use time effectively.
