BOOKMATCH - Congratulations to the Rabid Squirrels for yet another foaming-at-the-mouth Book Match victory! The Squirrels scored 92 points with teams from Northwood and Edgewood lagging behind with 77 and 42 points. Special thanks are extended to Caleb Cunningham who joined the one-man Edgewood team exhibiting excellent sportsmanship. However, our Book Matchers can't spend too much time resting on their laurels. Next week courageous contestants will compete against their kooky and contrary coaches!

They should be NEW or wrapped.  Bring any donations to advisory and have one representative bring them to the box in the nurse's office after announcements. Our collection drive will end on Friday, so bring in whatever you can as soon as possible.  If you have any questions, see Nurse Kirk or Ms. Horowitz.  Thank you for your help!

ATTENDANCE REMINDER
Please remember that according to North Shore School District 112 Board Policy 7:70 chronic or habitual truancy is defined as, "a child who is subject to compulsory school attendance and who is absent without valid cause from such attendance for 10 percent (18 days) or more of the previous 180 regular attendance days." Please note that we understand that there are valid causes of absences such as illness, observation of a religious holiday, death in the family, and family emergency. There are also extenuating circumstances and we are happy to work with you if necessary.

Our goal is to ensure daily attendance in each class period in order for our students to meet their potential or the expectations of our teachers. We want to remind parents that missing daily instruction and interaction cannot be replicated. Thank you for your continued support in this area.
