Musical Theater Syllabus
Class Rules:
* Participation is key!
* No food in class.
* Only water is allowed in the room.
* ALWAYS bring something to write with, paper, and your folder.
* Be kind and open-minded.
* See class rules posted in the room for further detail.
Grading:
This class is mainly based on participation. The work will be done in class while acting, singing, or dancing. There will also be a “final exam” performance at the end of the semester. The 1st semester performance will take place on Thurs. Jan. 22nd, 2009 and the journal project will be due on Fri. Jan. 23rd, 2009. Both performances will take place in the auditorium during your class’ block period.
Participation: 10 points per class
Journal Project: 50 points
Final Performance: 30 points based on participation
Due Dates:
Due dates are very important. An assignment is due at the end of your class period on the day it is due unless otherwise notified. If you do not turn in an assignment on time, 2 points will be taken off for each day it is late. After a week, the assignment will be counted as a zero, unless other arrangements have been discussed BEFORE the due date.
