Mr. Fisher lives for his field-goal-kicking son Erik. When the family moves from Texas to Florida, the Erik Fisher Football Dream is alive and well. What the family seems to have forgotten is Paul, the main character and Erik's younger brother. Paul is a soccer player, a goalie, and is very good. When his school collapses in a sink hole, Paul opts to attend Tangerine Middle, a tougher school than he's used to. Though he must wear thick glasses due to eye problems that he's told were caused by looking directly at the sun for too long, Paul wants to play soccer. Will his IEP prevent that? Will his cruel and selfish older brother get away with everything because of his talent on the football field? This is an excellent piece of teen fiction that's more challenging that it may seem at first.
