This year North Shore School District 112 replaced the Terra Nova tests with NWEA MAP tests. The principal made a presentation to parents (the abridged Power Point presentation is attached). Link to file posted 12/28/2005 The faculty, staff, administration, and community at Elm Place are committed to "closing the achievement gap" among students. The goal is for 100% of Elm Place students to ultimately meet or exceed state learning standards. Many efforts are underway in each classroom everyday to support excellence in education. One effort, the math outreach initiative began during the 2004-2005 school year. The initiative continues this year and as part of the program, parents were invited to a presentation (the abridged Power Point presentation is attached). One way is through meaningful homework and instructional practice. From time to time we will post useful homework tips and strategies to help parents help students.
