Class Rules, Parties and Special Programs:

CLASS RULES
1. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
2. Raise your hand and wait to be called upon before speaking
3. Put things back where they belong.

CLASS PARTIES:
Halloween, Holiday- Party, (December 21) Valentine's Day, Kindergarten graduation Day( June)

BIRTHDAYS: Children's birthdays are celebrated in the classroom if the parents would like to send in a healthy snack or something else ( bookmarks, stickers etc.) that your child would like to share with their class. There are 17 children in each class. Please include napkins, plates etc. to go with the snack. Parents are welcome to spend a short time in the classroom during the snack, but should call ahead to arrange the time with Mrs. Walich. Some parents have read a favorite story to the class during the birthday snack time.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS: We have Mad Science workshops three times per year - Five senses in October, Weather in January and Magnets in February. We have special visitors to our classroom to present in class workshops for students with Animal Senses, ( January) Life Cycle of the Frog ( April) and Life Cycle of the Monarch Butterfly ( May)

Homework:
  • Practice the high frequency words that are sent home in the weekly Friday Kindergarten Newsletter.
  • Math homework about twice a month
  • Review letter sounds ( also sent home in newsletter) if needed
  • Read Reading A-Z books if they come home with your child
Buddies:A.M. class is buddies with Mrs. Knotek’s third grade.
P.M. class is buddies with Mrs. Prestinario’s third grade.
