We have a snack every day in our classroom. It is the responsibility of our special person of the day to bring a snack for the class. Please send something nurtrious and easy for your child to pass out on their own. Some examples of good snacks are: crackers, popcorn, cheese, fruit, raisins, pretzels or graham crackers. Please check all ingredients for peanuts or peanut oil.
Every month your child will have a special day. One of their Îdutiesâ on this day is to bring a show and tell to show the class and tell about it. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to develop speaking skills. Some ideas for a successful show and tell is for you to pick something out ahead of time with your child and talk about some things that they could tell about it. When they have finished telling the class about what they have brought, the class is then able to ask questions. This helps all of us to determine what is a question and not to tell stories.
Examples of good show and tells are: photographs, souvenirs, trophies, favorite toys etc.
Occasionally I will change the show and tell format for a particular month, but you will be notified ahead of time.
Birthdays are a very exciting part of your child's life. At school we want to share in this excitement with your child. When it is your childâs birthday month, your childâs special day will be on or as close to their birthday as possible. Summer birthdays will be celebrated in June.
You may send in a Îspecialâ snack for your child to share with the class. Brownies, cupcakes, ice-cream bars, munchkins etc. Please do not send a birthday cake. You may send juice if you want, but it is not necessary.
On the day, your child will receive a special crown to wear for the day and they will be given a birthday book made especially for them by their whole class.
If you have any questions, please ask.
