District 112 named academic "outperformer"
North Shore School District 112 has been recognized as an academic “outperformer” in a new honor put out by Standard & Poor’s School Evaluation Services. To be identified as an outperformer by Standard & Poor’s, school districts, over the course of two consecutive school years (2003-04 and 2004-05), must show a significantly higher percentage of students that scored proficient or above on the state’s reading and math tests when compared to other school districts with similar levels of economically disadvantaged students. Volunteer tutors needed
OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring is seeking volunteers to tutor students in North Shore School District 112 during the school day. Tutors work one-on-one with the same student for the entire school year, assisting the child in reading, writing and language skills.

Highland Park-Highwood Integrated Preschool
Registration is now open for the Highland Park-Highwood Integrated Preschool Programs 2006-2007 school year. This program, sponsored by North Shore School District 112, serves a mix of typically-developing and special-needs students in the same setting.
