Emergency Closing Notification Sources/Late Start Schedule

Sources for notifying families about cancellations or late starts:

1. The most reliable sources to learn if school is closed or starting late are the district web site www.nssd112.org., the Honeywell automated message system, and the answering machines (numbers below) in each school. If you have any questions regarding parent enrollment in the Honeywell alert system, or require assistance to register, please contact Patricia Haughney, Director of Technology, at 847.266.2349 or email at phaughney@nssd112.org.

2. If a late start or cancellation becomes necessary, schools will be requested to start an emergency phone chain.

3. Although we will also use broadcast media to get emergency closing information to you, we caution that radio and television reports sometimes contain erroneous information due to the large volume of information they are attempting to broadcast. Frequency and channel information is listed below.

Late Start Schedule

The following arrival times and bus procedures should be followed if District 112 officials implement a late start.

Middle Schools

Students start at 10:00 a.m. Buses to pick up two hours after regularly scheduled pick-ups.

Elementary Schools

Students start at10:40 a.m. Buses to pick up two hours after regularly scheduled pick-ups.

Kindergarten Schedule

Morning kindergarten students to attend at discretion of parents (10:40 - 11:26 a.m.) Morning kindergarten buses to pick up two hours after regularly scheduled pick-ups.

Afternoon kindergarten students follow regular schedule (12:31 - 3:17 p.m.)

Early Childhood Program & Pre-Kindergarten Program - Green Bay

Morning Early Childhood Program & Pre-Kindergarten Program(10:40 - 11:15 a.m.) No morning bus service will be provided. Parents are responsible to provide transportation.

Afternoon Early Childhood Program students follow regular school day schedule (12:15 - 2:45 p.m.). Bus service will be available at the regular times.

Pre-kindergarten Program - Red Oak School

Morning Early Childhood Program (10:40 - 11:15 a.m.) Buses to pick up two hours after regularly scheduled pick-ups.

Afternoon Early Childhood Program students follow regular school day schedule (12:31 - 3:17 p.m.). Bus service will be available at the regular times.

NSSED Early Childhood Programs - Green Bay

Morning NSSED Early Childhood Program (10:40 - 11:15 a.m.)

Afternoon NSSED Early Childhood Program students follow regular schedule (12:15 - 2:45 p.m.)

Speech Services - Green Bay

Services begin at 10:40 a.m.

Head Start Program - Oak Terrace School

Students start at 10:40 a.m. (dismissal at 2:00 p.m.) Parents are responsible to provide transportation at 10:40 a.m. Bus service will be available to take students home at the regular time.
