ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT (AE)

We offer an AE Reading class and an AE Math class as an intervention for students who need more support in these areas.  These classes meet daily in lieu of a World Language class.  Please see the attached pdf for more information.

ACADEMIC LUNCH PROGRAM (ALP)

Meets daily during recess in various team-sponsored classrooms.  The program is open to all students who want a quite place to study, complete work, or read in lieu of participating in recess. Computers are available if needed.  Please see the chart below for more information regarding the program's logistics.

CLASS ACT CAFE

Meets daily before and after school.  The program is open to all students who want a place to study, complete work, read, or relax in the morning. Computers are available in the morning if needed.  In the afternoon the program is open to all who want a place to hang out, relax, or complete homework.  Please see the chart below for more information regarding the program's logistics.

EXTENSION BLOCK

Meets on C and D days (Wednesday and Thursdays) during the school day for 30 minutes.  The Extension Block is offered to all students grades 6-8th between periods 7 and 8.  The purpose of this time is to provide students with a Guided Study Hall or an opportunity to meet with a specific teacher for remediation, reteaching, or extension.  Students in the Guided Study will have the opportunity to work on homework, projects, and receive additional assistance from an assigned staff member.  For a copy of the new Wednesday/Thursday bell schedule please click here.

HOMEWORK CLUB

Meets daily except for Tuesdays after school from 2:50-3:50 p.m.  The program is open to all students who want a quiet place to study, complete work, read, or work on school related computer projects.  Student have access to library material and a certified supervisory teacher if needed. TRANSPORTATION:

At this time a late bus for East and West routes is available for students to participate in after school activities.  We're excited to announce that a stop is also made to the Firehouse on the East bus route. All students looking to take an advantage of this service should board the East bus. We are also excited to share that an activity bus is available for all dual language students.  The activity bus departs from Northwood on a daily basis at 4:00 p.m.  Students living East of the Metra railroad tracks should board the East Activity Bus.  Students living West of the Metra tracks should board the West Activity Bus.
