Mission Statement
La misión de la Escuela Oak Terrace es ayudar a que cada niño alcance su potencial emocional, social y académico para que así sea un miembro responsable y contribuyente de la sociedad.
The mission of Oak Terrace School is to help each child reach his or her potential, emotionally, socially, and academically and to become a responsible contributing member of society,
Es nuestra meta proveer un ambiente seguro y compasivo que animará a cada niño(a):
  • tener respeto por sí mismo
  •  respetar y celebrar la diversidad
  • resolver problemas independientemente
  • desarrollar destrezas académicas y sociales
    		•  It is our goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment that will enable each child to:
    • gain self-respect
    • respect and celebrate diversoty
    • become an independent problem solver
    • develop academic and social skills
    Oak Terrace empleará el Sistema de Apoyo e Intervención Positiva en el Comportamiento (PBIS). Para alcanzar esta meta, PBIS se enfoca en mejorar las habilidades de la escuela en enseñar y en apoyar el comportamiento positivo de todos los alumnos.  Este programa es un medio pro activo de prevención y respuesta a problemas de disciplina en el salón y en toda la escuela.  El énfasis está en desarrollar y mantener un ambiente seguro donde los maestros puedan enseñar y los alumnos puedan aprender.

    Expectativas de la Escuela para los alumnos y el personal son:

    • Ser respetuoso
    • Ser cuidadoso
    • Esté listo para aprender
    		 Oak Terrace School will be using the POSITVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION SUPPORT SYSTEM (PBIS). To acheive its goals, PBIS focuses on improving a school's ability to teach and support positive behavior of all students. It is a proactive system approach of prevention and response to classroom and school discipline issues. Emphasis is on developing and maintaining safe environments where teachers can teach and students can learn.
     

    School-wide Expectations for all students and staff are:

    • Be respectful
    • Be safe
    • Be ready to learn
    Procedimientos específicos para enseñar y celebrar las expectativas que ocurrirán durante el año.  Esto se conseguirá a través del uso de:
  • Cool Tools - instrucción semanal  para los comportamientos esperados 
  • Pride Oak Leaves - refuerzo inmediato para el comportamiento positivo

    • Pride Fridays - asambleas frecuentes para celebrar el comportamiento positivo 
    		 Specific procedures for teaching and celebrating these expectations will occur throughout the year. This will be achieved through the use of:
     
    • Cool Tools - weekly school-wide instruction of expected behavior
    • Pride Oak Leaves - immediate reinforcement for positive behaviors
    • Pride Fridays - frequent assemblies celebrating positive behaviors
