Congress for Kids is set up as an interactive tour and helps students learn about the foundation of our federal government and how its actions affect all of us.

In this excellent multimedia site, the students can learn about satellites and what makes plane fly. They can build vocabulary by finding Air Force words, help pick the right uniform for an airman, listen to Air Force music, and read about the Air Force history.

You can sign in to this site as either a student or a teacher. a student, you will find interactive games about money and listings of television programs about security printing. As a teacher, you can find all kinds of resources, activities, and public information documents about money, the United States Secret Service, math, etc.

This site is for grades K-5 and is 
set up in a Field trip format. Pretty extensive overview of 
fingerprinting, DNA, jobs at the FBI considering the audience. Ends with 
a cross word puzzle review.

This attractive, award-winning site talks about the history of the Secret Service, mint, taxes, and the Main Treasury Building.  Frequently asked questions about the Treasury Department, U. S. coins, paper currency, savings bonds, budget and debt, and the tax system are useful. Facts about types of counterfeiting and how to protect oneself are very educational.
CIA For Kids

This is an intriguing site which both kids and adults would enjoy. You can read about famous people and the role they played in the history of intelligence. The section on CIA Canine Corps, what they do and how they are trained, is particularly interesting. 
FEMA For Kids
(Federal Emergency Management Agency)
One of the most useful information in this award-winning site is how to become a Disaster Action Kid, take a self-quiz, and obtain a certificate. Tips about what to do in all types of natural disasters are shown here. Jokes, tales, rap, photos, scavenger hunt, and coloring books can be found in this site.

(National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences) This site is jampacked with activities for elementary-age children. Games, surprises, brainteasers, riddles, kids surveys, coloring books, sing-alongs, jokes, word scrambles, science projects, art and poetry gallery await visitors to this site.

This is the site for students who want to learn more about oil spills or hazardous chemical accidents.  There are experiments for one to do, either at home or in class.

This attractive Web site contains information for children and teens about vaccines, reptiles and salmonella, cat and dog care, children and tobacco, FDA investigators, and many more.  The food safety quiz and food safety coloring book are useful.
CPSC
(Consumer Product Safety Commission)
This site covers bicycle safety and safety in the home.  The most interesting feature is the link to a a video game called, The Further Adventures of KIDD Safety.

This well-organized site contains well-illustrated safety information for kids about abandoned mines, quarries, sand, gravel pits, underground fires, abandoned explosives, dangerous animals and insects, and the like.

learn all about the earths water through pictures, activities, maps, and an interactive center.  There is a great collection of state and country maps for the United States.

This award-winning site, with a Spanish version, has lots of information for kids helping their relatives tackle alcohol problems. A book list of children books related to alcohlism is useful. Contact persons and numbers for kids if they need help are also included.
Kids' Corner

This site contains a student gallery of stories, poems, artwork, and autobiographies. Student Stumpers allow kids to connect with other kids as they ask difficult questions about space or space exploration.
Rus - the Surfin' Squirrel
(Rural Utilities Service)
Utility safety tips pertaining to electric, telecommunications and water are valuable.  Children can find out how the Rural Utilities Service helps rural communities with electric and water service and how how rural Americans brought electricity, telecommunications and running water to their farms and towns. Games are included.
