Units of Study:
Students will be instructed in the content areas of reading (decoding and comprehension), written expression, and mathematics in accordance with their IEP's. Most of this instruction will take place in the Extended Resource Program (ERP) classroom. Please visit your child’s grade-level teacher’s web page or read the classroom newsletter for specific information relating to grade-level units of study in the areas of science and social studies.
Class homework policy:
Homework is sent to reinforce current skills and concepts your student is working on in the areas of reading, writing, and math. Homework can be found in your student’s red folder on the “Take Home and Bring Back” side. It is to be completed at home and brought back the next school day, unless noted otherwise. Papers sent home on the “Take Home and Stay Home” side should be removed daily and remain at home. Homework will not be sent home on Fridays.
Individual Daily Schedules:
Each student has his or her individual daily schedule. Creating the schedule ensures that your child is receiving all of the special education support and related services in accordance with his or her IEP. It is also created to allow opportunities for your child to participate with his or her grade-level peers as appropriate. The schedule is flexible and often requires some fine-tuning . You will receive a copy of your student's schedule.
