Birthdays
The focus of each child’s birthday will be to make the child feel special. Treats are welcome, but please make sure that they are healthy.

“Fruit Break”
Every morning, we will have snack time. Please bring a healthy snack each day that is easy to eat.

*For both birthday treats and fruit break, please follow the District 112 Nutrition Guidelines.

Class Homework Policy
In 4th grade, homework is given for the purpose of providing some additional practice on the skills being taught, building a sense of responsibility, and helping students finish work that they were not able to complete in class. Please encourage your child to call another student if he/she needs clarification on an assignment.

Weekly Assignments
Reading Log: Due every Friday with a goal of 150 minutes per week
Current Events: Due every Thursday. Make sure your article is newsworthy. Some good web resources are:
www.timeforkids.com and www.sciencenewsforkids.com
