  PTO OBJECTIVES

To assist parents and teachers in promoting the welfare of Sherwood School and its pupils. The PTO shall promote the goals expressed in the Mission Statement adopted by the Sherwood Faculty: "Sherwood School is a joyful, caring elementary school community which celebrtes diversity and individuality. Our mission is to provide students with a quality education promoting the excitement of life-long learning while building a strong sense of self and community."
  PTO BOARD POLICIES
The Sherwood PTO shall be noncommercial, nonsectarian, and nonpartisan. It shall not endorse any commercial enterprise nor any candidate. Neither the names of The Sherwood PTO nor the names of any of its members in their official capacities shall be used in connection with any commercial concern of with any partisan interest, nor for any purpose other than the regular work of The Sherwood PTO.
  PTO MEMBERSHIP & DUES
A member of The Sherwood PTO shall be defined as any person with the child attending Sherwood School who is interested in promoting the Objectives of its By-Laws, enrolling in The Sherwood PTO, and paying dues.
  PTO BOARD MEMBERSHIP
The Sherwood PTO members who have upon duly presented motion, been elected to The Sherwood PTO Board meeting in May of each calendar year shall constitute The Sherwood PTO Board. Such Sherwood PTO Board members shall serve for a two-year term and there shall be no restrictions other than those stated herein concerning re-election.
  PTO EXECUTIVE BOARD OFFICERS
The officers of The Sherwood PTO shall be 2 Presidents, 2 Vice Presidents of Fundraising and Events, a Vice President of Membership, A Vice President of Enrichment Programs, a Treasurer, a Recording Secretary, and the immediate past President. These officers shall constitute The Sherwood PTO Executive Board and shall serve for a period of two years. There shall be no prohibition forbidding any officer from serving in any capacity for more than one term.
