Earth Day Visit from State Representative Karen May

On Earth Day Karen May met with the Recycling Committee, which consists of a number of fourth and fifth grade students. She was impressed with our student center initiatives around recycling. Our students are passionate about promoting a healthier and safer environment.

Mrs. K. wins Illinois Art Award!

Mrs. Amanda Diedrich Kurzawski was awarded the Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA) Early Professional Award on Friday, October 26th, 2007, at the Annual Convention. Amanda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Art from Illinois State University. Her Master in Education (Interdisciplinary Studies in Curriculum and Instruction) is from National Louis University. Wayne Thomas students have been well represented in many art shows and displays in our school, throughout the district and in the community. Congratulations to Amanda on this monumental moment in her career! We are glad you are here, Mrs. K!
