Class Rules & Procedures:

The fourth grade team promotes a positive and respectful classroom community. All teachers use positive reinforcement and set clear consequences .

Snacks:
Students will have an opportunity to eat a healthy snack every morning. The children are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school each day to avoid multiple trips to the drinking fountain.

Birthday Celebrations:
We are happy to celebrate your child’s birthday. A birthday treat should be sent to school with your child in the morning or dropped off in the office during the day. Classrooms will celebrate birthdays sometime during the day.

Hallway Expectations:
Wayne Thomas school rules require all students to walk quietly though the halls at all times. Students will receive a warning if they are too talkative. Further warnings will result in quiet lunch or quiet recess.

School Supplies:
Students started the year with a complete set of supplies. They are expected to replenish these supplies when needed.

Fourth Grade Homework Policy:

Assignment Notebook:
Each student has an assignment notebook, in which he/she is responsible for writing down assignments on a daily basis.

Homework Expectations:
Homework is expected to be returned to school on the assigned due date. If not, natural consequences will be applied. In addition, students are expected to read for a minimum of twenty minutes per day at home.

Absences:
Students who are absent for two or more days can request homework. Upon the child’s return, the teacher will discuss expected due dates for past assignment.
