Teachers Hours:

Thursday: 8:40 - 12:00 |
Program:
The elementary enrichment program services and supports the general classroom teachers, and provides opportunities and support for the highly able students at the elementary level. Enrichment groups are developed on a flexible basis. The students and topics vary depending upon the unit of study and the needs of the students. Most importantly, we are constantly working to improve critical thinking skills and foster students' abilities to think outside the box!
GTE (Gifted, Talented and Enrichment) services are provided on a flexible service basis.
1. The GTE teacher provides differentiation support to teachers with students identified to receive gifted services in their classrooms. |
2. The GTE teacher works with small groups of students, outside their classroom setting on special projects, units, or lessons. |
3. The gifted services teacher serves as resource for differentiation to regular education classroom teachers and grade level groups of teachers.
|
4. The gifted services teacher works directly with classroom teachers as a resource, co-planner, or co-teacher with whole groups or small groups of students.
|
|
The GTE (Gifted, Talented, and Enrichment) resource teachers are highly qualified and specially trained teachers who hold a state credited certificate in gifted education. The gifted resource teachers are responsible for implementing the North Shore School District 112 elementary enrichment resource model which outlines the types of services that the gifted resource teachers provide, on the district website. |
