Preschool Programming Information

The Early Childhood Center at Green Bay offers a variety of programming options.  Our teachers are state certified, and we utilize both the State of Illinois Early Learning Standards and the Creative Curriculum for Preschool. Our classrooms have regular support from both Speech/ Language Pathologists and an Occupational Therapist. Many of our sessions are taught in Spanish for native Spanish speakers. All of our teachers support the development of the whole child and provide opportunities for learning which facilitate each child's cognitive, emotional, social, and motor development. We believe that children learn best through hands-on play based experiences and exploration. We believe that a secure and nurturing classroom creates a positive learning environment.

Green Bay School has been recognized by ExceleRate Illinois with the Gold Circle of Quality Award. Our program was monitored by independent auditors to obtain this award for the highest level of programming.

Preschool for All: The school is the recipient of the Preschool for All Grant, which focuses on high quality educational programs for students that are identified as "at risk" for academic failure due to a wide variety or risk factors. The Blended Program is composed of both students with special needs and those that are typically developing. There are several sessions of the blended program that are taught in English and Spanish. We also an Extended Day program that provides intensive programming for students with more significant needs.

Dual Language: Our Dual Language Classrooms are composed of children from English and Spanish speaking homes. Students can be funded through the Preschool for All grant or through tuition. Students may choose to apply to the dual language program in kindergarten, or may continue in a monolingual kindergarten program. The program is intended to help students experience another language. It is taught in one morning and one afternoon session, and includes both English and Spanish components.
