Phase 3

The core focus of Phase 3 of the Long-Range Facilities Plan is the future of the K-5 dual language program, Red Oak Elementary School, and the Early Childhood program.

On June 26, 2025, the North Shore School District 112 Board of Education approved a plan to consolidate the K-5 dual language program at Oak Terrace Elementary School beginning in the 2027-2028 school year. As part of this decision, Red Oak Elementary School will close after the 2026-2027 school year, and the Early Childhood program will return to Green Bay School. The plan was developed in response to sustained enrollment declines and aims to support the long-term quality, equity, and sustainability of dual language education in the district. A two-year transition process, including a community Task Force, will guide the change.

This page documents the development of Phase 3, including key milestones, board discussions, and community input.
