Committee Assignments

The North Shore School District 112 Board of Education consists of seven elected members who serve the community by setting policy, overseeing the District’s budget and supporting the success of all students. At its organizational meeting, the Board elects its officers. The Board President appoints members to committees that help guide the District’s work in key areas. Current Board officers and committee assignments are listed below.

Facilities Committee

The Facilities Committee reviews matters related to the District’s buildings, grounds and long-term capital planning and makes recommendations to the full Board. The committee reviews facility needs, construction and renovation projects, maintenance priorities, and sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with the district’s educational goals and fiscal responsibility.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee reviews matters related to the District’s financial planning, budgeting and resource allocation and makes recommendations to the full Board. The committee reviews budget proposals, financial reports, long-term projections, and funding strategies to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with district priorities.

Policy Committee

The Policy Committee reviews, develops and recommends district policies to ensure they are current, legally compliant, and aligned with the district’s mission and goals. The committee evaluates existing policies, considers proposed changes, and monitors legislative updates that may impact district governance. Serving as an advisory body to the full Board, the committee helps guide the development of clear, effective policies that support student learning, staff practices, and overall district operations.
