Committee Assignments
The North Shore School District 112 Board of Education is made up of seven elected members who serve our community by setting policy, overseeing the district’s budget, and supporting the success of all students. Each year, board members elect officers and take on committee assignments to help guide the district’s work in key areas. Facilities Committee
The Facilities Committee provides guidance and oversight on matters related to the district’s buildings, grounds, and long-term capital planning. The committee reviews facility needs, construction and renovation projects, maintenance priorities, and sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with the district’s educational goals and fiscal responsibility. It serves as an advisory body to the full Board, helping to inform decisions that support safe, functional, and future-ready learning environments for all students.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee provides oversight and guidance on the district’s financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. The committee reviews budget proposals, financial reports, long-term projections, and funding strategies to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with district priorities. It serves as an advisory body to the full Board, helping to support transparent, sustainable financial practices that advance the district’s educational mission.
Policy Committee
The Policy Committee reviews, develops and recommends district policies to ensure they are current, legally compliant, and aligned with the district’s mission and goals. The committee evaluates existing policies, considers proposed changes, and monitors legislative updates that may impact district governance. Serving as an advisory body to the full Board, the committee helps guide the development of clear, effective policies that support student learning, staff practices, and overall district operations.
