Acceleration Criteria
Pursuant to Illinois Public Act 100-0421, public school districts must provide a formal, standardized process to evaluate students for single-subject or whole-grade acceleration.
Accelerated placement means the placement of a child in an educational setting with curriculum that is usually reserved for children who are older or in higher grades than the child. Accelerated placement includes early entrance to kindergarten and first grade, single-subject acceleration and whole-grade acceleration. The process includes a fair and equitable decision-making process that involves multiple persons.
District 112 utilizes a data-driven approach to ensure every student is placed in the most appropriate learning environment.
Student RIT scores, percentile ranks, and proficiency projections are based on the 2025 NWEA MAP Growth Linking Study.
