HRS Certification

North Shore School District 112 is committed to continuous improvement through the High Reliability Schools (HRS) framework, a research-based model developed by Dr. Robert J. Marzano. This framework helps schools build and sustain a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment by progressing through five key levels:

  1. Safe, Supportive, and Collaborative Culture
  2. Effective Teaching in Every Classroom
  3. Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum
  4. Standards-Referenced Reporting
  5. Competency-Based Education

Our nine schools are currently engaged in this process, working to ensure that every student receives high-quality instruction and support to achieve academic success. The High Reliability Schools framework is a rigorous and research-driven model, and even achieving Level 1 Certification is a significant accomplishment. Schools must progress through each level sequentially.
