    In general music, students study various elements of music throughout their study at Oak Terrace in keeping with the District 112 Music Power Standards and the Core Arts Curriculum.
     
    In addition, music throughout historical periods and styles is included.  Students use the following means to achieve music learning: Singing, Playing Music and Rhythm Games, Dancing and Moving to Music, Playing Classroom Instruments and Recorders, Acting Out Musical Stories, Studying Musical Scores. The educational approach is mainly Orff based with hints of Kodaly, as well as Traditional Methods and New Ideas.
