Transportation

North Shore School District 112 provides transportation for students who live more than 1.5 miles from their school or face a qualifying hazardous route. Bus route details, including stop locations and times, are available in Infinite Campus. Routes are updated prior to the start of school, so please check regularly as adjustments may occur.

All students who qualify for transportation should have received a personalized letter with their bus or van route information. If you have not received the letter, please contact Susana Rabin at srabin@nssd112.org. This letter includes:

  • Pickup and drop-off locations
  • Scheduled times
  • Route number

If you did not receive your personalized letter, please contact the transportation office at 224-765-3011.

Other Key Reminders:

  • Bus passes are not issued. Eligible students are automatically assigned to a route.
  • Be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes early.
  • Kindergarten and Early Childhood students must be met by a parent or guardian at drop-off.
  • If your child will not ride the bus on a given day, please contact your school’s office.
  • During the first two weeks of school, some delays are expected as students, drivers, and families adjust.

This year, we have instituted a concern form for families to notify the district regarding transportation issues. This form will ensure we are following up on all concerns and maintaining a chain of communication. It will be monitored regularly.

Transportation Concern Form

Also beginning this year, FirstAlt, in partnership with First Student, will provide alternative transportation options for students with special needs, out-of-district placements, and areas that are harder to serve.

For more details or transportation questions, visit the Transportation Department page or contact the Transportation Office at 224-765-3011.

Infinite Campus

Infinite Campus is the district’s secure online portal where parents can access their child’s grades, attendance, schedules, school fees, and more.

ParentSquare

ParentSquare is North Shore School District 112's primary communication tool. It is used by the district office and schools to send emails, text messages and phone calls to parents/guardians, staff members and the community.

Every parent/guardian who is in the district's database already has a ParentSquare account and is set to receive notifications via email, phone call and text message. However, by accessing your ParentSquare account, you will have more control over how you receive notifications.

  • Access your ParentSquare account at parentsquare.com/signin.

  • If you are accessing your account for the first time:
    • Visit parentsquare.com/signin, use the email address that we have on file for you, then click on "Forgot password." After completing the process of resetting your password, you will be able to access your account.
    • Or you can access your account with the "Sign in with Google" option, if your Gmail account is the email we have on file for you.

Technology Help

Visit our Technology Services page to see how technology supports learning across the district.

If you have a technology issue, please submit a ticket and a member of our team will contact you shortly.

Safety and Security

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. District 112 follows the “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP), which provides a clear, common language for responding to any emergency. The SRP is based on five simple actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.

Staff are trained in these actions, carry quick-reference cards, and reinforce the protocol through posters in every school. Learn more on our Safety and Security page.
