New Families
Welcome to North Shore School District 112! We are glad you are here.
This page is designed to help families who are new to District 112 get started. Use the steps below to confirm your school, complete registration, and find important information before your child begins school.
Confirm Your School
Use our boundary map to confirm your child’s school based on your home address. The map also shows transportation designations for each address. If you have a question about school boundaries or residency, please call 224-765-3052.
Register Your Child/Children
All new students must complete registration before attending school in District 112. This includes kindergarten students, students transferring from another district, and students new to District 112 at any grade level.
During registration, you will be asked to provide information about your child and household. Families will also receive information about residency, health requirements, student fees, and other next steps.
Review Residency Requirements
Families must live within District 112 boundaries to attend our schools. Proof of residency is required when enrolling in the district for the first time, when a family changes addresses, or when residency needs to be verified.
Check Health Requirements
Students entering pre-k, kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade, and students newly enrolled in the district at any grade level have health requirements. These may include physical exams, immunizations, dental exams, and vision screenings.
Find School Hours and Calendars
Review school hours, early release days, and the approved district calendar so your family can plan for the school year.
Learn About Transportation
Transportation information is based on your home address and school assignment. Bus and van route letters are typically mailed in August.
For transportation questions, contact the Transportation Office at 224-765-3011 or transportation@nssd112.org.
Review Meals, Fees, and Supplies
Families can find breakfast and lunch menus, student fee information, and school supply lists online.
Contact Your School
Your school office can help with building-specific questions, arrival and dismissal procedures, school events, attendance, and other day-to-day information.
