Scope and Public Records
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through North Shore School District 112’s public website and forms hosted on the website. It does not govern school student records, District-managed accounts, educational technology services or use of the District’s electronic networks. Those records and services are governed by applicable law and Board policies, including Policy 6:235, Access to Electronic Networks; Policy 7:340, Student Records; and Policy 7:345, Use of Educational Technologies; Student Data Privacy and Security.
Information submitted to the District through the website or email may constitute a public record. The District retains and discloses public records in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, the Local Records Act, Board Policy 2:250, Access to District Public Records, and other applicable laws. Information that is confidential or exempt from disclosure will be protected as required by law.
Use of Personal Information
North Shore School District 112 collects information that users voluntarily provide by emailing the District, participating in a survey or completing an online form. The website also automatically collects certain technical and usage information, including IP address, browser and device information, referring pages and activity on the site.

The District uses reasonable security procedures and practices designed to protect information collected through the website from unauthorized access, use, modification or disclosure. Information submitted through the website is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and Transport Layer Security (TLS). No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and the District cannot guarantee absolute security.
Mobile Phone Numbers
The District does not sell or share mobile phone numbers or text messaging opt-in data and consent for third-party marketing or promotional purposes. The District may share this information with service providers that support District communications, but only as necessary to provide those services and in accordance with applicable law and their contracts with the District.
