Collection Drive: Help Us Help Our Community!
Did you know that food insecurity affects many people living in our community? Please help us collect food for the Moraine Food Pantry throughout the month of September. Our goal is to collect 500 canned tuna/chicken or meat items. We can do it with your help! Please consider donating at least 2 items per student. Questions? Please contact Leslie Boehm.
We practice all kinds of drills throughout the school year in order to be prepared for an emergency before it arises. These drills include fire drills, severe weather, bus evacuation, and lockdown drills. As we conduct the drills, we stress the importance of being quiet and listening for teacher directions in the case of an emergency.
Thank you for helping us to prioritize school attendance! We understand that unique family gatherings and religious observances are also a priority, but know that consistent school attendance is critical in a students academic success long term. We had over 97% attendance this week!
Start With Hello!
This year, the students will be participating in “Start With Hello” week at the end of September, sponsored by Sandy Hook Promise. This program will give students the tools they need to make a difference in the lives of their peers. Students will be encouraged to take small steps that will promote inclusion and connectedness throughout the school for the entire year. Through this fun program, students will learn ways to help others who are showing signs of social isolation. As a school, we will bring attention to the growing epidemic of social isolation and we will empower our students to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness.
