Halloween Happenings

Celebrating Halloween is a long loved tradition at Ravinia School. Our annual all school celebration will begin at 2:15 with the class parties, and the parade will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Students should not wear their costumes to school in the morning. Adequate time will be allocated to changing into costumes, and we will ensure that privacy is allowed as needed to change. We strongly discourage groups of students leaving during the school day to change into their costumes for this reason. Any student leaving school during the school day will be subject to the same sign in and out procedures as other school days.

Parents and friends are invited to view the parade that begins at door A8 (front of school, near gym), and continues around the school, to the corner sidewalk to Dean Avenue and toward Roger Williams. We will take a left on Roger WIlliams and parade toward the playground. The parade will end at door C5 (behind school, on playground). Students will parade outside, weather permitting. In case of inclement weather, our parade will be held in the hallways.

Only room parents will be permitted to visit the classroom for parties, and will have access to the room at 2:00 . As a reminder, if students have been absent from instructional activities during the day, they may not participate in class parties, after school, or evening activities.

REMINDER:  Students’ costumes should be safely designed and age appropriate to allow for adequate vision, mobility and warmth. Masks CANNOT be worn, and NO TOY WEAPONS of any type will be allowed at school. Costumes should be age- appropriate and school appropriate. We are encouraging safe and responsible behavior during this time of year, both at school and in the community. Thanks for your cooperation!
