NSSD 112 Board Hires Director of Operations, Facilities, and Transportation

Highland Park, Highwood and Fort Sheridan, IL – The North Shore School District 112 (NSSD 112) Board of Education approved the hiring of Kevin Liebe as the Director of Operations, Facilities, and Transportation. As Director, he will be charged with establishing strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the facilities of the NSSD 112 as well as manage all aspects of the Operations, Facilities, and Transportation Department. Liebe will report to Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Chris Wildman, CPA.

“Mr. Liebe’s strong leadership skills and depth of knowledge in school facilities management coupled with his experience in construction management will serve our district extremely well,” said Dr. Jane L. Westerhold, Co-Interim Superintendent. “His reputation as a collaborative, responsible professional precedes him and he will be an invaluable addition to our administrative team.”

Liebe has had a long career in both the public and private sector, most recently serving the past three years as the Assistant Director of Operations at Township High School District 214 where he has served since 2013. At District 214, he was responsible for approximately 2.4 million sq. ft. of facilities and more than 300 acres of district grounds. He was involved in the design, bidding, management, and budgeting for more than $40 million in additions and renovations. Liebe was also responsible for ensuring all facilities met or exceeded the expectations of staff, students, and the surrounding community.

Liebe started his career in 1996 as Construction Manager for Turner Construction Company where he was responsible for the management of public school construction projects. In 2003, he took a position with Riley Construction, Inc., where he was tasked with the management of public school and municipal construction projects working directly with District and Municipal personnel, architects and engineers, local officials, and contractors. Two years later, he became Project Manager for a new High School in Oviedo, FL. built by Elkins Constructors, Inc.

In 2006, Liebe became Department Supervisor for Demolition and Construction for EHC Industries, Inc., and was responsible for management of all projects directly related to demolition and construction. Liebe began his school administrative career in 2009 as Warren Township High School District 121’s Director of Buildings and Grounds. During his time with District 121, he was promoted to the District level within three years and oversaw all aspects of the department including preventative maintenance, work order programs, facilities improvements, and safety among other areas.

“I could not be more excited to serve North Shore School District 112 and its students, staff, faculty, and community,” said Liebe. “I am truly honored for being given this opportunity, and I look forward meeting many new faces and working to fulfill the mission of the organization every day.

Liebe has Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design from State University College at Buffalo and is certified as a Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) and Certified Facility Manager (CFM).
