HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!

MAY BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING TO FEATURE BRAESIDE WE SCHOOL

Save the date! May 21 @ 7:00 p.m. students from Braeside School will present to our district governing body about WE School. If you did not know, all Braeside Bobcats are WE schoolers. Through our collections, drives, walks for water, and more every student has been part of the movement this year. Come show your Bobcat pride and support the group presenting. The total time presenting is slated to be no more than ten minutes. Small amount of time, big impact!

TEACHER APPRECIATION

Thank you to the educators who make the days at Braeside bright. Teacher appreciation week is gone, but the moments to share the best thanks of all are not. Consider taking a few minutes in the coming weeks and share a positive memory or anecdote from the year with your teachers. Talk to your kids, find the funny story, and share it back. Staff love knowing those little nuggets that really do make all the difference. This is also one great way to extend the week of thanks in a meaningful way.

5TH GRADE FAREWELL & INTERMEDIATE SPRING SING

This Wednesday students will enjoy our annual spring sing event presented by grades 3-5.  K-2 students will be in attendance at 2:00 p.m. with a family show starting at 6:30 p.m. This event is also our 5th grade farewell. 5th Grade parents, bring tissues!

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Braeside students have recently completed the Volleyball Unit. It was great to see their skills during this unit develop. They learned how to bump, set, dig, and serve (both underhand and overhand). The younger students started with balloons to work on their technique before moving to beach balls. The older students started with the beach balls and moved on to the volleyballs. The final activity for the unit was for the students to work together to see how many times they could volley the GIANT beach ball back and forth over the net.

The 5th graders got to put their volleyball skills on display for the entire school with the annual 5th Grade Volleyball Tournament! Each team had a group of 5th graders joined by 2 staff members. The Purple Team was able to take the tournament victory!

Currently, the students are participating in the Pickleball and Badminton Unit. This is a challenging unit, but is a tremendous way to work on improved hand-eye coordination.

We would love to see many of our Braeside 4th and 5th graders get involved in the 2019 Youth Track & Field Event! A link to the flyer with information can be found here!

If you have any questions about the event contact Mr. Buti sbuti@nssd112.org or check out the event website for details.
