Yumi Ross is an architect who has lived in Highland Park for 20 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bryn Mawr College and a Master’s in Architecture degree from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Art Institute of Chicago's Architecture and Design Society, Hyde Park Art Center's Board of Directors, the Advisory Board of CPS Lives, and has served on the board of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago for 17 years.
She is also a trustee and board representative to the 112 Education Foundation where she serves on it's film committee and is chair of nominating for the District 113 Education Foundation's board. She is board liaison to the City of Highland Park's Human Relations Commission and serves on the City of Highland Park's Green Alliance. A delegate of the 2008-2009 NSSD112 Education Caucus, Yumi was on an Education Action team and the Strategic Planning Team that drafted the five-year strategic education plan for the District. Yumi was NSSD112's board representative to the North Suburban Special Education District (NSSED) and served on its Governing Board. She is the mother of two NSSD112 graduates.
